JOHN KERRY
HARDBALL WITH CHRIS MATTHEWS - Interview
February 11, 2004
(Recorded 2/10/04)
MATTHEWS: We‘re back with our wide-ranging

(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)
SEN. JOHN KERRY (D-MA), PRESIDENTIAL
CANDIDATE: Unlike some candidates in this race, I‘m not picking one

nominee? Have you noticed? Have you felt the fire?
KERRY: Well, that‘s fine. I...
MATTHEWS: They‘re saying you‘re out of sync
with American culture. Ed Gillespie, the chairman of the Republican
Party, out there personally shooting at you. Does that mean you think
they think that you‘re the guy?
KERRY: I don‘t know what they think, Chris.
But I‘ll tell you this. If they want to shoot
at me, that‘s just fine, because I intend to shoot back. And it‘s they
that are of touch with the American people.
